Job Description:

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a person to Safety Head / Sr. Manager function, to join our team in our Vadodara plant. In this position, you will be involved in leading the Safety priorities for the site with one or two team members. A person in this role should be responsible for leading, growing, developing and advising for a strong Safety culture at site and ensure that the site operates with complete compliance to statutory requirements in terms of health and safety of employees and surroundings and suggesting improvements to remain updated with the changing regulations and getting ready for upcoming regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • • To maintain legal register and ensure compliances with respect to permits and licenses
  • • To prepare, apply, liaise and obtain necessary permits and licenses for site operations from DISH and other statutory bodies.
  • • To ensure regular monitoring of safety implementation and initiate actions through various departments in terms of correcting or preventing any concern
  • • To ensure that Safety observations are timely and rightly acted upon and encourage people for transparent reporting
  • • To motivate and train people on various safety aspects and develop a strong behavioral safety culture at site
  • • To ensure that monthly and periodical returns are filed on time and with all compliance
  • • Ensure that tool box talks and safety trainings at all levels are conducted with full effectiveness
  • • Ensure that annual mock drills are conducted with different scenarios and effectiveness assessed and gaps are addressed.
  • • Ensure that onsite emergency plan is updated, effective and team is well trained
  • • Ensure that emergency support services like First Aiders, SCBA users, Fire fighters are properly identified, trained and effective
  • • To ensure that critical work and non-routine works are properly risk assessed and JSA is done with cross functional teams
  • • Support Process Safety Champion to implement PSM goals of site
  • • Ensure ESHA audits are conducted smoothly and all points are acted upon with effectiveness
  • • To advise senior management on changing needs of site to strengthen Safety systems and culture and make strategic plans and ensure implementation
  • • To ensure that emergency support equipment and facilities like hydrant, extinguishers, ambulance, rescue devices etc are available, well maintained and functional.
  • • To coordinate with all other HODs to facilitate daily working and a cooperative culture in facilitating daily work flow.
  • • To propose developmental plans to senior management in terms of adoption of better systems and sustainable improvements leading to CAPEX plans
  • • Ensure monthly reporting to the HOD and senior management
  • • To resolve Near Misses or incidents through RCA approach

Skills:

  • ○ Sound knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety standards, statutory norms and laws. Must have good knowledge about behavioural based Safety and reasonable knowledge of process safety. One in this position should also have the experience of HAZOP, JSA, PTW, LOTOTO, Confined space entry and various hazards associated with chemicals and a sound knowledge of MSDS. One should also be knowledgeable about personal exposure monitoring and interpretation of results and take CAPA
